This part was derived from calcium dependent response element (CDRE) binding sequence of the FSK2 gene. The consensus sequence for Crz1 binding as described by Yoshimoto 2002 was mutated at non conserved residues to generate this part. This sequence differs by only one base pair from the consensus. The sixth base, T in the consensus, is a G in this sequence. We estimate it occurs as a Crz1 binding site with ~1/4 the frequency of the consensus.
